1989 Quarter Finalist

Danny Malone's first season at The Reservation ended with a 12-2 record and a quarter finals appearance against the state finalist, Clif Groce led A&M Consolidated Mustangs. Groce went on to play at A&M and in the NFL. Another example of one dominant player making a huge difference and stopping a powerful PN-G team.

The '89 Indians featured Ron McGill at running back, Ryan Robertson at QB, and the memorable 'Bonzai' kickoff routine. One of many memorable Indian teams.

Watching these YouTube videos reminds me of the purpose of this web site and forum. To be a place where memories are recognized and preserved for Indian fans and alumnus. This type of material are a window to the past that is good to never forget.

To be honest not enough fans make an effort to do this and share it.

Thanks to all PNG Indian fans that do their part, like the above that published 1989 highlights to YouTube. Great, great memories.

PN-G has a special spirit. Let's pass it on to future generations.

A group of us used to watch the 89 highlights reel before every game. I had those highlights memorized! Good times - it’s funny how history tends to repeat itself every so many years.
